Join the Gen Hex Club - It's Wicca Awareness Month

Hello, friends, and welcome to Leap of Faith! October is Wicca Awareness Month! So what do you need to know about Wicca? Here are ten pointers:

1. According to recent studies, Wicca is America's fastest-growing religion.

2. Wiccans believe in a God and a Goddess that are equal in power.

3. Wicca is the most popular "brand" of witchcraft today.

4. Wiccans have homeschool networks, just like Christians do.

5. Wiccans do not worship Satan directly. They don't even believe in him.

6. Wiccans use candles, crystals, and other objects to pray and perform spells.

7. Wiccans love nature and seek to protect the environment.

8. Wiccans shouldn't be feared. They are people just like the rest of us. God loves them.

9. You WILL have opportunities to share your faith and create open dialogue with Wiccans, pagans and those of New Age faiths. Your care and preparation will determine whether you do a good job of this or not.

10. We want every person to be well-equipped to understand Wicca - what it is, and what it is not. Our book Generation Hex will equip you to know more about Wicca and to share your faith in a positive manner with people of a variety of belief systems.

Pick up your copy of Generation Hex today on amazon.com or at your local bookstore! Thank you.

  1. Merry Meet Again!

One thing i am glad about your book Generation Hex is that you are showing the positive side of what Wicca is.

You stated the Wiccans believe in a god and goddess as equal. I would like to add that Wiccans see the god and goddess as one, not just two as being equal. the god and goddess is a duality, similar to the christian holy trinity, the father, son,and holy spirit; three being as one. We see the creator as two, masculine and feminine, because in nature it takes both for life to exist. All religions worship god, no matter what you call him or her, it's all the same ONE God. I know the one Divine Creator loves me and all religions teaches his/her love.

You stated that wiccans don't worship the devil directly. It's true that we don't believe or worship the devil. But to say that we don't worship the devil directly makes it sound the we unknowingly worship such a entity.
Wicca practices are similar to buddha, Hindu, and others, but most don't say that they worship the devil or don't worship him directly . Wicca practices are also similar to Catholic Mass with the use of chalices, candles, and the use of bread. Wicca is in no what connected or unknowingly connected to the Christian Devil. Wicca is an modern revival of ancient paganism of old europe. This revival consist of old Celtic, Norse, and Greco-Roman tradtions. These traditions were around before the Judeo-Christian devil was even a thought to them. When the early Christians made their way up to europe and discovered these faiths they quickly demonized them ( based on the christian faith) as devil worship because it was different.

Last you state that this book will help Christians prepare them to know about wiccans and to share their faith with them. I agree that it is good for wiccans and Christians to understand each others faiths. But it sound like to me you are preparing to convert us by using the friendly approach rather than call us devil worshippers. I will hope every christian that read this book rather then go out on a friendly crusade and try to convert, but try to understand co-exist with your wiccan neighbors as you do with the jews and muslims. When we all learn to love and co-exist with each other the world can one day be at peace! Divine Blessings

  3. I'm glad you posted this; but trying to describe wicca is often very hard, because you have SO MANY different belief systems. Some people deal with the God and Goddess as two different entities, Some believe them together; some worship mainly the goddess and exclude the god. I look forward to seeing what your book is about..and to see how well you managed with ALL the wiccan faiths out there!
